One of the things that has to be done when managing a store like this one is the writing of product descriptions for these product pages. It's important for a few reasons. An accurate description provides lots of search terms that will, hopefully, get caught in the Google net by people searching for something in that vein. It serves as Alt Text for the visually impaired. It also bulks up a page's word count, which is something that Google cares about. It's also a task that I often put off, sometimes indefinitely. As a remedy to this failing, I'm trying out a new AI service called Theobot, which writes descriptions for images, and it's usually pretty good. The paragraph below is an example of a less successful attempt.
"This artwork is a detailed, repeating pattern featuring intricate, highly stylized owl illustrations. The owls are depicted with elaborate, swirling feather designs in shades of black, grey, and muted teal, accented with striking orange beaks and accents. Their large, round eyes are a focal point with a distinct, almost mesmerizing gaze. The background is a dark, contrasting black which emphasizes the ornate details and vivid colors of the owls. The composition creates a sense of symmetry and visual rhythm, making the artwork visually engaging and rich in texture."
Owls? I see no owls, although I can understand why the AI grasped at that straw as there is something vaguely birdlike in the pattern. It also completely failed to talk about the style, which is a kind of distorted art nouveau.
